Who we are
This property has been in my Mother's Family since the 1600's when two O'Handley brothers came here to start a new life from Ireland. It was out of the family for 5 years when in 1974 my father bought the land. Our family moved into the property, which consists of me (Cathy), Roy, Ellard, Tammy, my Mom, Greta Richard (Reashore), and my Father Percy MacKenzie. My Moms mother Marion OHandley Richard (Reashore) who was married to Frank Richard (Reashore) was born on this property, as well as her father. Greta’s Place was my Uncle Elmer Reashore’s portion of the property, which is now own by my brother Ellard. The main home stead is almost 90 acres from Brasd'Or Lake water edge to Pottle's Lake in North Sydney water edge with a trail through the length of the property.
